Trowel shall be a 1.6mm x 1.6mm x 1.6mm "V" notched for Roberts 656. coverage up to 5 sq metres per litre.

APPLICATION OF PRIMERS & ADHESIVES FOR DOUBLEBOND CARPET TILE INSTALLATION
For high porous subfloors, or floors where a floor levelling compound has been used, the use of Roberts 370 Floor & Wall Primer is recommended. Roberts 370 Floor & Wall Primer shall be applied evenly over the entire subfloor surface by either spray gun or roller in accordance with the appropriate Roberts Technical Data Sheet. In some circumstances, depending on the rate of absorbency of the subfloor, a second application of primer may be necessary. Drying time shall be approx. 10 to 20 minutes depending on substrate and climate conditions.

Spread Roberts 656 Pressure Sensitive Adhesive using specified "V" notched trowel to 100% of subfloor. Adhesive and sub floor temperatures must be greater than 10° Celsius. It is essential that the underlay (Bridgestone or equivalent) is lowered into the adhesive before it has completely dried or become clear. This will ensure adhesive transfer to the back of the underlay. Tack up time will vary according to climatic conditions -20 minutes at 20° Celsius.

Apply Roberts 80 or Roberts 90 or Roberts 95 Adhesive using the specified "V" notched trowel to 100% of the surface of the slab underlay. For hard to hold carpet, it may be necessary to allow a short tack up time. Seams should be sealed with Roberts 52 Water Based Carpet Seam Adhesive or Roberts 5216 Solvent Based Carpet Seam Adhesive. Starting at one end of the seam, insert the applicator tip into the seam and apply a continuous bead of adhesive along the entire length as per Roberts published instructions.

OR
After bonding the carpet to the floor, open the seams and insert the Roberts R50-350 Dual Bond/Direct Stick Carpet Tape the full length of each seam and join the carpet using a Roberts Carpet seaming iron as per Roberts published instructions.

Roll the carpet within one hour of installation.
