All subfloor surfaces shall be prepared in accordance
with Australian Standard AS/NZS 2455.2.1996 -"Textile Floor

shall be Polymer Engineering 999 Pressure Sensitive Carpet Tile
adhesive or Polymer Engineering 900 Pressure Sensitive Carpet
Tile Adhesive for bonding the carpet tiles direct to the sub floor.
Trowel:
shall be 1.6 mm x 1.6 mm x 1.6 mm "V" notched for Polymer
Engineering 999 or Polymer Engineering 900 Pressure Sensitive
Carpet Tile Adhesives, coverage up to 5 sq metres per litre.
Rolling:
a long nap roller with a pile height of no less than 10mm-Coverage
up to 8 square metres per litre.
APPLICATION
OF PRIMERS, ADHESIVES AND INSTALLATION OF
CARPET TILES
For
high porous subfloors, or floors where a floor levelling compound
has been used, the use of Polymer Engineering 6000 Floor &
Wall Primer is recommended. Polymer Engineering 6000 Floor &
Wall Primer shall be applied evenly over the entire subfloor surface
by either spray gun or roller in accordance with the appropriate
Polymer Engineering Technical Data Sheet. In some circumstances,
depending on the rate of absorbency of the subfloor, a second
application of primer may be necessary. Dry time shall be approx.
10 to 20 minutes depending on substrate and climate conditions.
Spread
Polymer Engineering 999 Pressure Sensitive Carpet Tile Adhesive
for a permanent bond or Polymer Engineering 900 Pressure Sensitive
Carpet Tile Adhesive for an installation where tiles may need
to be "relayed". Use a "V" notched trowel,
spraying or rolling to 100% of the surface of the subfloor. Polymer
Engineering 999 or Polymer Engineering 900 Pressure Sensitive
Carpet Tile Adhesives are usually used in dry mode, ie allow the
adhesive film to completely dry and become clear before installing
the carpet tiles. It is not good practice to leave the adhesive
film exposed to possible contaminates, such as dust for long periods
before installation.
Roll
the carpet tiles within one hour of installation.
